This Code of Conduct applies to all TMTP participants — tutors, students, parents, guardians, volunteers, and administrative staff — in all programme settings including in-person sessions, online communication, and public representations of TMTP.
1. Our Values
Everything we do at TMTP is guided by four core values:
- Respect: Every person in the TMTP community deserves to be treated with dignity, regardless of age, background, ability, gender, race, or religion.
- Responsibility: We each take ownership of our words, actions, and impact on others.
- Integrity: We are honest with ourselves and each other, even when it is difficult.
- Growth: We come with a learning mindset and celebrate progress — our own and each other&aposs.
2. All Participants
Every person affiliated with TMTP — regardless of role — is expected to:
- Treat all other participants with courtesy and respect at all times.
- Arrive on time for sessions and communicate in advance when unable to attend.
- Respect the venue and its property, including library facilities, furniture, and shared resources.
- Refrain from using offensive, discriminatory, or abusive language or behaviour.
- Not engage in bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind — in person or online.
- Respect the privacy of other participants and not share personal information or photographs of others without their consent.
- Report any behaviour that violates this code to TMTP leadership promptly.
3. Students
Students enrolled in the TMTP programme commit to:
3.1 Commitment to learning
- Attend sessions regularly and punctually. Persistent unexplained absence may result in the place being offered to another student on the waiting list.
- Come prepared — bring your textbooks, stationery, homework, and a willingness to engage.
- Complete tasks and practice work set by your tutor between sessions to the best of your ability.
- Ask questions when you do not understand — there is no such thing as a stupid question.
- Be honest about your academic progress and challenges so your tutor can support you effectively.
3.2 Behaviour in sessions
- Give your tutor and fellow students your full attention during the session.
- Keep your phone on silent and limit phone use to educational purposes unless told otherwise.
- Do not disrupt the session for other students.
- Do not bring food or beverages that create a disturbance or are prohibited by the venue.
- Do not arrive under the influence of alcohol or any substance.
3.3 Academic integrity
- Submit your own work. Plagiarism, copying, or cheating undermines your own growth.
- TMTP tutors are here to teach and guide you — not to do your assignments for you.
4. Tutors
TMTP tutors are held to the highest standards of professional conduct:
4.1 Professional responsibility
- Prepare adequately for every session and communicate your session plan to programme leadership when requested.
- Arrive on time and remain for the full duration of the session. Notify TMTP at least 24 hours before an absence.
- Deliver sessions in a structured, engaging, and student-centred manner.
- Track student progress and raise any concerns about attendance, welfare, or learning with TMTP leadership.
- Maintain your subject knowledge and be honest when a question falls outside your expertise.
4.2 Boundaries
- Maintain professional boundaries with all students at all times. See the Child Safeguarding Policy for detailed guidance.
- Do not accept gifts from students or families that could be perceived as creating obligation.
- Do not solicit private tutoring arrangements with TMTP students outside the programme.
- Do not communicate with students via personal social media or messaging apps.
4.3 Representation
- Do not make statements on behalf of TMTP to the media or in public without prior approval from the co-founders.
- Do not use TMTP&aposs name, logo, or association for personal commercial benefit.
5. Parents and Guardians
TMTP values parents and guardians as essential partners in each student's success:
- Ensure your child arrives on time for sessions and is collected promptly at the end.
- Notify TMTP in advance when your child will be absent.
- Ensure your child has all necessary materials for the session.
- Engage constructively with TMTP staff and tutors. Raise concerns respectfully and through the proper channels (contact us via email or phone).
- Treat all TMTP staff, tutors, and other families with respect. Aggressive, threatening, or abusive behaviour toward any TMTP member will result in your child's participation being suspended.
- Do not disrupt ongoing sessions. If you need to speak to a tutor, please do so before or after the session.
- Support your child's learning at home — encourage completion of set tasks and a positive attitude towards education.
6. Use of Technology and Social Media
All participants must:
- Not record video or audio of sessions without the explicit consent of all participants.
- Not post identifiable images of other participants (especially minors) on social media without consent.
- Not use TMTP platforms, group chats, or communication channels to share content that is inappropriate, offensive, or unrelated to the programme.
7. Conflict Resolution
We encourage all participants to resolve minor misunderstandings directly, respectfully, and promptly. If a matter cannot be resolved informally:
- Raise the concern with the tutor or session lead.
- If unresolved, submit a written concern to TMTP leadership at transformingminds541@gmail.com.
- TMTP leadership will investigate and respond within 5 business days.
- All parties will be given an opportunity to share their perspective before a decision is made.
8. Consequences of Violation
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be addressed proportionately, depending on severity:
| Severity | Examples | Response |
|---|
| Minor | Lateness, phone use, minor disruption | Verbal reminder and informal warning |
| Moderate | Repeated minor violations, disrespectful language, disruptive behaviour | Formal written warning; parent/guardian notified for minors |
| Serious | Bullying, harassment, threatening behaviour, persistent non-compliance | Suspension from programme pending investigation |
| Severe | Abuse, violence, safeguarding violations, criminal conduct | Immediate permanent removal; referral to appropriate authorities |
9. Acknowledgement
All tutors acknowledge this Code of Conduct as part of their onboarding. Students and parents are deemed to have accepted this Code upon completing the enrolment process. A copy is available on our website at all times and will be provided in writing on request.
